biting the bullet…

As Twin #2, my go-to lipsticks tend to be of the pinker/nude/coral shades compared to my twin’s faves. I essentially own a lot of different types of pinks, nudes and corals. I also like various finishes; from the highly pigmented matte ones to the more sheerer textures...and everything else in between!  Even though I do own several bold coloured reds and wine coloured lipsticks, I have struggled to pluck up the courage to wear them strong; instead I tend to wear them more or less like a stain (blotted several times lol). 

My current fav at the moment is MAC ‘Cremesheen: Crème Cup’ which is my latest purchase. It gives me the best of both worlds as it is a nude-ish pink shade. It’s quite pigmented but not overly pigmented and no way is it sheer (in comparison to Clinique Chubby Sticks); but enough to look polished and perfect for any occasion, whether it be for a wedding, date, picnic, everyday work lip etc. It is moisturising, and quite a flattering colour for any complexion. It has been my go-to work lipstick as of late and I have received so many compliments from so many customers and colleagues.

I have always had a large lipstick and lip gloss collection which started at a young age (doesn’t help when you work in a semi-beauty workplace) and it seems to grow quite rapidly after I watch a makeup tutorial. I recommend checking out reviews on Makeupally.com before making the ultimate purchase decision…if it gets several negative reviews then it’s a no-go for me! 

To me, lipsticks in general complete any and every look. Regardless if you want to go all out with a statement lip or just want a subtle hint of colour, finding the perfect shade will always complete the look you want to achieve. So go on, get out there, research and track down that perfect go-to lipstick, or like me, lipsticks!

lipstick junkie alert

FACT: After all these years, our super mum has held on to the hospital baby tags which labelled us as "Twin #1" and "Twin #2" accordingly. I thought that was pretty sweet. 

So as Twin #1, I have a kinda have a secret to share. I have become in a very short period of time, a complete lipstick junkie. I'm all for bold lips and I really mean it.  If there's a new shade of red that I don't already own, then I most definitely need to get my grubby hands onto it! And in my opinion, every day can be a bold lip day - you don't necessarily need to wait for some big occasion to rock it. 

This shouldn't really come as a surprise to anybody seeing as my mum has her own lipstick collection of approximately 50+ lipsticks! Oh and I should mention my mum used to be a Mary Kay/ Avon fan. I believe our first encounter with makeup products was from her own collection of beauty goods. 

I haven't always been a lipstick kinda person. I in fact, was more of a blush person. I'd load up on the pink blush (cringe) and would only use lip balms and glosses on the lips. Boy has my makeup look changed! I  now like to go extremely light/neutral on the cheeks and rock a bold lip as the main feature of my makeup look. I should also add that I'm not the type to discriminate on lipstick colours. I love my reds, pinks, plums and in more recent times, orange! 

My lipstick obsession started off with my first red lipstick purchase in the shade "Russian Red" by MAC cosmetics. I remember going to the makeup counter and telling the assistant I just wanted a bold red and she said that blue-reds were in and all over the runways. "Blue-red" - HUH?! This was a term I was not so familiar with but I went with it anyway. Heck, I didn't even swatch the lipstick tester in store before I purchased it (something I usually always do). However, that moment  piqued my interest in lipsticks and I have never looked back since.  I constantly find myself drawn to the lipstick sections and I can spend countless hours googling swatches of lipsticks making mental notes of which lipstick shades to buy next.

Hi everyone and welcome to our blog!

We just wanted to say a big thank you for all of our friends and family who have been very supportive of our desire to start beauty blogging! We also want to say a warm hello for all of our new readers/followers of our blog out there!

For many who may not already know us, we are in fact twin sisters (not just people who wished they were twins) who well...simply love all things makeup and beauty related. 

A little bit about us:

- we are fraternal twins (although more often than not, we are told we look identical);

- we chose very different career pathways;

- we have been asked "do you guys possess magical powers?" more often than we can remember;

- we love watching cartoons (our faves includes Walt Disney productions, Studio Ghibli etc);

- we can go on and on about makeup/ our latest beauty finds...DUH!
